Dehydration is a condition that occurs when there is a loss in body fluids (mostly water) and that loss surpasses the amount of fluids consumed.  As humans we are constantly losing water every day, from when we breath to sweating during a workout.

As the summer months approach us, the risk of dehydration increases as the temperature rises which can lead to the body becoming “out of balance” or dehydrated.

Symptoms of Dehydration:

  • Fever
  • Heat Exposure associated with Exercise
  • Dry mouth and tongue
  • Sudden Dizziness
  • Fainting / Weakness
  • Heart Palpitations
  • Incapacity to sweat
  • Deep yellow / amber colored urine

If you or someone you know is experiencing these symptoms, AFC Urgent Care would be happy to diagnose and provide treatment for your dehydration. We are located at 359 North Central Ave in Hartsdale, Monday – Friday 8am-8pm and Saturday & Sunday 8am – 5pm.
